Animesh has been representing clients in the insurance industry for over a decade and a half. He is on retainer with brokers, TPAs and insurance companies

He has handled over 300 insurance claims; including under CAR, EAR, SFSP, LOP, Marine, Jewelers, Burglary, Motor, Group Mediclaim and other miscellaneous policies. He has pursued claims for insured(s) from claim intimation stage to execution of court decrees stage and has successfully settled claims pre-litigation/arbitration and through favorable arbitral awards and court decisions.

He specializes in Regulatory and Board Room disputes and has represented brokers and other intermediaries in regulatory issues with the IRDAI. Animesh’s advice is also sought for by clients on products and claims.

Animesh has considerable experience in drafting, review, negotiation and execution of diverse range of contracts in different sectors including energy, construction, medical, hospitality and technology.

He has handled arbitrations in large infrastructure and construction projects as lead counsel. His notable representations include successfully representing India’s premier construction company in an arbitration claim on a cement plant; successfully represent India’s largest national thermal company in arbitrations with total claims of over INR 3000 crores and acted as an arbitrator in a 3-panel arbitration presided by a retired High Court judge in a complex construction dispute.

Animesh works closely with the technology sector advising them on regulatory issues, contracts, employment issues, and litigation avoidance strategies. He also works with technology start-ups.

He is regularly briefed as counsel before the Delhi High Court and outstation High Courts, Delhi District Courts, Consumer Courts and other Tribunals.

Animesh graduated with first class honors from Indraprastha University, Amity Law School, New Delhi, India. He was awarded the Best Student Award for Academic Year 2005-2006 and 2004-2005. He won prestigious international moot competitions of Philip C. Jessup Moot, Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot and Commonwealth International Moot.

Animesh is a member of the Bar Council of India, Supreme Court Bar Association, Delhi High Court Bar Association, All India NCDRC Bar Association, Indian Society for International Law and the Insurance Institute of India.

He is regularly invited to teach at Executive Programs and law schools. Taught special courses at Oriental Insurance Co. Staff Training Institute; National Law University-Delhi; DSNLU, Vishakhapatnam and Amity Law School-Delhi on Insurance, Civil Litigation System, Dealing with Contracts, Litigation Drafting, Law of Outer Space and Moots.

He is regularly invited to speak at FICCI events, Insurance Conferences and Events, Business Schools and Law Schools and to judge moot court competitions on public international law, comparative law, arbitration, trade, maritime, competition, constitution, insurance and other commercial laws.
